Karen Lawrence Öqvist is CEO at Privasee AB.

Apart from being an author, entrepreneur and speaker, Karen has a masters degree in both information security and business administration. She is a guest lecturer at the Royal Holloway University of London on privacy & GDPR. She is a Fellow of Privacy (FIP) with the worlds largest global information privacy community - IAPP (International Association of Privacy Professionals). She earned her CIPP/E, CIPT and CIPM in 2015.

In her backpack, Karen has 25 years experience in information security, compliance, and of this 10 of them are in privacy compliance. She has during her career worked for HP, Novell and Cern. Her technical roles have included: Infosec consultant (HP), security architect (HP), identity/IT consultant (Novell), system responsible (CERN), network manager (UK). Her career has taken her from UK, to France, Switzerland and Sweden, where she lives today.
