Welcome to our comprehensive one-day course on the EU Taxonomy, a cornerstone of the EU's ambitious "Green Deal" initiative. Since its enforcement in January 2022 as part of the "Action Plan for Financing Sustainable Growth," the EU Taxonomy Regulation has been instrumental in shaping sustainable finance across the European Union.

Content

Throughout the day, we will guide you through the intricacies of the EU Taxonomy Environment, focusing on its six environmental objectives:

  • Adaptation to Climate Change
  • Sustainable Use and Protection of Water and Marine
  • Resources
  • Transition to a Circular Economy
  • Pollution Prevention and Reduction
  • Protection and Restoration of Biodiversity and Ecosystems
  • Climate protection

You will gain a deep understanding of the structure, operation, and purpose of the EU Taxonomy Environment, including an overview of its main criteria such as Substantial Contribution (SC) and Do No Significant Harm (DNSH).

In addition to exploring the role of the financial sector in implementing the EU Taxonomy, we will delve into the crucial aspect of Minimum Safeguards. This agenda item will provide a comprehensive understanding of the safeguards' significance in mitigating greenwashing and ensuring the integrity and credibility of sustainable investment practices.

By the end of the course, you will be equipped to:
  • Understand the reporting obligations imposed by the EU Taxonomy on your company and evaluate their implementation
  • Identify the direct and indirect impacts of the EU Environmental Taxonomy on your company, including its size class and implications for your supply chain and financial viability.
  • Navigate extended reporting requirements for affected companies and comprehend their significance for financing under the Sustainable Finance Agenda.

Target Group

Designed for employees and managers from all companies affected by the EU Taxonomy's scope, this course provides essential insights into navigating the regulatory landscape effectively. Whether your company is obligated to publish a non-financial statement or offers financial products, understanding the EU Taxonomy is crucial for compliance and strategic decision-making.

Teaching method

The course alternates between theory and practical examples, and great emphasis is placed on the opportunity to ask questions and exchange experiences between the participants and the teachers.
